I've recently started using the Blue Ice Mission Light 120cm sling, so I haven't had a huge amount of time on it yet. That said, my first impressions have been extremely positive.
As an IFMGA Mountain Guide, I'm pretty particular about the gear I carry, especially when it comes to weight, durability, and ease of use. The Mission Light meets all my expectations and more. It is incredibly lightweight, packs small, and handles very well when building anchors or extending protection.
One thing I noticed right away is how soft and supple the material feels compared to many traditional Dyneema slings. Knots are easier to tie and untie, even after being loaded, which is a big advantage in the mountains. The 120cm length is versatile and has quickly become a go-to piece on my harness.
So far, I'm very impressed and look forward to putting more mileage on it during alpine and guiding objectives. Based on my initial experience, this is a well-designed piece of equipment that deserves a place on any climber's rack.
