A little too sparse

Wonderful harness. Fits great and very comfortable. The lack of a haul loop or 5th gear loop feels like a major oversight for what I assume most people view as an alpine harness.

Best light harness

Great light harness for everything from ice to trad or sport climbing. Surprisingly comfortable given the minimalist design, had no problems hanging while working routes or doing long rappels. Gear loops are nice and wide, easily fits a double rack plus some slings on just the two front loops. Rear loops aren’t stiffened like the front and set back a bit but still easy to access and accommodate plenty of gear. I love that this packs down to nearly nothing and is so versatile.

Gear loop width?

What is the inner width of the front and rear gear loops?

Removing one star due to lack of four ice clipper loops

Now that I have several days of ice climbing with the Halo, I'm downgrading my previous glowing review to four stars because the harness only has two ice clipper loops. Yes, I used Petzl Caritools to add clippers in the front, but I find it less dialed than I like. Harness still great for everything except waterfall type ice climbing, for that the Cuesta Adj is a better harness.

One harness to rule them all

I've owned a lot of harnesses in my 30 years of climbing, but the Halo is the best I've owned - both as a specialist and all arounded. In the past, I used a different harness for sport and trad but the Halo excels at both. I can't wait to use as my ice/alpine harness, which is why I bought it. It is so light and easy to move in but surprisingly super comfortable at hanging belays. I wish it had four (not just two) ice clipper loops and a fifth gear loop, but it still easily deserves five stars. Blue Ice is killing it with gear that give climbers something actually new and better, and IMO this is their best offering yet.
