Description

This crampon has a chromoly steel front and rear rail. Both rails are equipped with an antibott system. The front rail is asymmetrical to give you maximum performance and balance. True to the Harfang line, the Alpine uses our central main textile strap that connects the front and back rails. The Alpine Workhorse

I've used the Harfang Alpine for two seasons now working and recreating in the Alps, Alaska, and Lower 48. This has replaced my Petzl Vasak in most applications. They are super sharp out of the box and have seen little wear on the dyneema on a multitude of different rock types and easy mixed terrain, especially given how robust the Blue Ice dyneema strap is. I'm of the mindsight these days that there are very few limitations with this set up versus a steel spreader bar for glaciated and easy mixed applications. Of note, this crampon is not compatible with many ski boots in fully auto mode due to toe bail sizing. And prepare to channel all those hangboard workouts to switch the bails from full/semi auto.
