Straightforward and clever, the Koala rope bag allows you to efficiently store your rope - up to 80m - in a snap. Unique, compact, its innovative design makes it easy to move between two climbing routes.
Created by professional mountain guide Manu Ibarra, it can be worn alone or in addition to your usual backpack. It turns into a tarp to protect your ropes when unfolded on the groud.
• Internal colored loops on the tarp to secure the ends of the rope
• Easily carries an 80-m rope, climbing shoes and harness
• New internal zipped pocket to store your guidebook
• Weight: 372g
• Dimensions: 46x26x13cm
• Designed in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
• Ideal for Rock Climbing
picked this up after playing around with a rep's sample. super stoked on the design, it made hopping between routes simple and hangs like a bucket easily if you're belaying in a spot without much room to fully spread out. it easily fits just about everything you need for a sport climbing day and the tarp's attachment about 2/3rds into the bag makes it easy to keep your rope clean and separate from the rest of your gear. I'd give it 5 stars except i'm not a huge fan of the fabric. during a short trip to the red it got a few small rips on the sandstone, leading me to wonder how it will fare against more abrasive rock. while the ripstop fabric chosen caught the small tears quickly, i'd love to see the next iteration with a more abrasion resistant fabric. maybe 210d HDPE Gridstop, which feels just as light and pliable but provides that extra toughness to really let this bag shine.
all in all, if you're interested, it's a slick, thoughtful bag that's worth trying out!
